John O'Brien is the CEO of PoolWerx, Australia's largest spa and pool care network with over 200 active franchise territories across Australia and New Zealand.  He has over 20 years experience culminating from his time as a franchisee, master franchisee and now franchisor. Every year since the inception of the business PoolWerx has sustained over 15 percent growth.

The franchise has been named one of BRW's Fast Franchises for the past seven years and was recognised as an AFR ‘Top 9' return-on-investment franchise. PoolWerx also landed the FCA Franchisor of the Year Award in 2004. John was the 2008 FCA Chairman, co-chair of the World Franchise Council and is a past President of the FCA (Qld).

He was recently named a finalist in the 2010 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.  An avid believer in the power of public relations, John will share his experience and success in utilising this medium to generate awareness for his business both at a franchisor and franchisee level.
